I know people asked for rain to keep everything alive, but don't you think you took it a little far, Mother Nature? Monday saw almost six inches of rain in San Francisco, and what seemed like a majority of it at the intersection of the coffee shop where I was studying before my film history class up on Russian Hill. One of the storm drains got so clogged with street debris that the whole crossroad was transformed into a miniature ocean, complete with waves and all.

Other eccentricities encountered in the city as of late include the King Tutankhamen exhibit at the de Young Museum and an impromptu hula-hoop rave I happened upon in an empty fountain at Golden Gate Park.

and if you're going to san francisco,
be sure that you bring your camera,
'cause crazyness will undoubtedly abound.

The last two images actually got published in Spring 2009 edition of Red Wheelbarrow Literary Magazine, woo-hoo! Very professional remark, I know.

this past weekend was exhausting.
here are a few of my favorite shots to sum it up:

Michael's nephew Connor giggling in triumph at stealing his Uncle Mikey's hat

in other news, i have been broken for almost two weeks now, my foot is in a super-sexy boot cast thing, which is thankfully removable. it doesn't hurt too bad, it's just a pain in the ass more than anything else.

i'm so excited for the fleet foxes concert at the filmore tomorrow that i can't focus on my english hw at all... could be a problem. time to buckle down, i guess!

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? Because mine is flourishing! There are sproutlings in every row, the scallions were the last to peek their stringy heads above ground just today. Here are a few shots:
